With the high-performance chargers from ECTIVE's Battery Booster and Solar Battery Booster series, you can easily charge your leisure battery while driving . This means you don't have to worry about a shore power connection as soon as you arrive at your campsite and can travel independently for significantly longer. While the Battery Booster (BB) only charges your leisure battery while driving, the Solar Battery Booster (SBB) , thanks to its integrated MPPT solar charge controller, provides charging power via your solar panels when you're stationary at your destination.

In addition to the functionality of the BB models, SBB models feature an integrated MPPT solar charge controller with a higher efficiency than conventional PWM charge controllers.
If you interrupt your journey or arrive at your destination, solar charging automatically begins using the solar panels installed on your vehicle. This gives you even more flexibility.
The SBB 30 model processes a solar power output of up to 250 watts and generates a charging current of 20A. The SBB 60 model boasts a maximum PV output of 430 watts and a charging current of 30A. That's something to work with!
Once your auxiliary battery is fully charged or in trickle charge mode, excess solar energy, with a maximum charging current of 5A, is also fed into your starter battery. This function ensures that your vehicle can be started even after extended periods of inactivity.
Charging process with charging booster:
Using a precise charging curve , the ECTIVE Battery Booster automatically increases and decreases the voltage to the required values for optimal battery charging. Furthermore, the charging booster compensates for line losses and significant voltage fluctuations from the alternator , which are common in vehicles. 12-volt components in your vehicle are also protected from voltage fluctuations and overvoltage.
The charging process takes place in three optimized steps :
- During boost charging, the charging process initially takes place with the maximum current until the battery voltage reaches the value of constant voltage charging.
- Now the current begins to decrease and the constant voltage charging mode is started. The charging time in this phase averages 2 hours, depending on the battery.
- If the battery voltage exceeds 12.6 volts, the constant voltage charging is terminated and the trickle charge is activated.
